A typical Project begins with a general supply management mapping which ends with a diagnosis that consists of grouping purchase families according to its importance and the detected savings chances. This stage of SAVINGS CHANCE ASSESSMENT, which may take between 2 to 3 working weeks according to the complexity of the case and the available information, is based on the understanding of the company’s purchase process and its flaws in terms of costs and controls.

Once the latter is accomplished an initial group “purchase family " is determined to work within a 3 to 5 months term. During that period of time a working methodology will be developed, which includes 4 stages indicated in the following chart, and it ends with the commitment agreement signing with selected suppliers.

Strategic Supply Program Methodology allows working on two essential cost components: quality and price. This implies an important questioning of the specifications and consumption practices on one hand, and purchase procedures and relationships with customers on the other.
